100 Club - 2009
Since the 100 Club was launched in November 2007 we have raised over £2,500, many thanks to all of you who are members. The money raised has been used exclusively towards re-paying the loan we obtained from the ECB to help us establish our second ground. The loan needs to be re-paid over five years and without the 100 Club we would struggle to re-pay it without it having a detrimental effect on the club's finances.
We currently have 78 members, but would ideally like to increase that to 100, this would generate an income of nearly £4,000 per annum for the club which would neatly cover the ECB loan repayments.
This is an excellent way of fundraising for the club and we hope that those of you who have not already joined will do so.
Details of the 100 club are as follows:-
- To join the 100 club the membership fee is £5 per month
- You are more than welcome to take out more than one membership per person
- Non members of the club are also welcome to join
- The membership fee is payable either as an annual payment (£60 per entry) or by standing order. Payments of £5 per calendar month will be taken from your bank account on the 1st working day of each month.
Once a month (usually at a club function) there will be a draw with prizes as follows:-
- 1st Prize - £100
- 2nd Prize - £50
- 3rd Prize - £25
You can be safe in the knowledge that the profits from this fundraising initiative will be used in the best way to help the club. We have an excellent colts set-up and hope that the second ground will allow the club to provide excellent playing facilities for them.

100 Club - 2008
Over the last few seasons the growth of the club, particularly the colts section has outstripped the capacity of our facilities. We now have over two hundred colts regularly attending coaching sessions and playing matches. In 2007 we fielded seven colts and five adult teams on a regular basis as well as hosting an adult 20/20 league. This resulted in over 90 games being played on the ground despite the poor weather! In 2008 we are fielding an additional adult team at weekends and for the first time a Ladies team in the Friday night Colchester District Ladies 20/20 league.
All this will increase the pressures on our facilities. We are in the process of significantly expanding our facilities by establishing a second playing field on the land opposite the main gates to the Club. This will ease the pressure on the main pitch, provide more flexibility for colts coaching at the weekends and allow us to play even more cricket.
As you can imagine it is going to cost a significant amount of money to establish the new playing field. In a second phase we would also like to expand our clubhouse to accommodate the anticipated extra demand. Work on the new playing field is well advanced and we have been very fortunate receive a loan from the ECB to assist us in the project. However the loan needs to be repaid over the next five years and there will be on-going maintenance costs once the ground is up and running.
At the end of 2007 we launched a major fund raising initiative - a new lottery to be known as the 100 Club. Our intention is to find up to one hundred people who are willing to pay £5 a month for a number in a monthly draw with three prizes of £100, £50 and £25. Regrettably not in the same league as the National Lottery so far as prizes go but surely the odds of winning must be better!
You do not need to be a Kelvedon & Feering Cricket Club member to join the 100 Club although new members are always welcome.
The monthly subscription is £5 per number, payable either via a monthly standing order or if you prefer to pay annually a single payment of £60. The first draw is expected to take place in December (monthly payments to be made in advance). All participants will be notified of their number and the results of monthly draws will be displayed in the Clubhouse.
